Find the exact center of an image in photoshop

We’ve set up this tutorial to show you an easy little way to find the absolute (true) center of a layer or image in photoshop. There are a few other ways of doing this, but this is a pretty quick an easy way we figured we’d share with you.

With your image already open, (click) on the “Marquee Tool” from the side bar

Now (click) on “Select > All” from the File Menu (or just hit CTRL-A or APPLE-A).

Right click on the image (within the selected area) and choose “Transform Selection”. You will notice there will now be a circle in the middle of your selected area, that is the center of the image/layer.

Click (and hold) on the Ruler from the left side and drag the guide line to the center circle (it should snap to it). Then do the horizontal ruler (top).

You now have the “true” center of the image

Spock (beta) a cool “people search” site

Came across a pretty neat “people search” website, called Spock. It’s still in its beta stages, but its a pretty neat site that bring up thumbnails with results which makes it a lot easier for determining if the results are exactly what you want. Its a pretty fun tool to use when your either looking for information on someone, or just fiddling around in your down time.

WordPress admin password lost? Reset it with this script.

I came across a neat little script over at Village-Idiot.org that makes resetting your wordpress admin password extremely simple. All you need is ftp access to your wordpress site. All you do is upload the emergency.php file to your wordpress root directory and then access it using your web browser. Then you just enter your username and the password you want, and it automatically overwrites the existing admin password to your new one. This can save you from such a big hassle. Just be sure to remove the file after your done, considering anyone can go to that file and reset your password. Two versions below:

Finding complementary and primary colors for a pre-existing site or image can be a very daunting task. This utility comes in handy and can save you a bundle of time.
