Find the exact center of an image in photoshop
We’ve set up this tutorial to show you an easy little way to find the absolute (true) center of a layer or image in photoshop. There are a few other ways of doing this, but this is a pretty quick an easy way we figured we’d share with you.
- With your image already open, (click) on the “Marquee Tool” from the side bar
- Now (click) on “Select > All” from the File Menu (or just hit CTRL-A or APPLE-A).
- Right click on the image (within the selected area) and choose “Transform Selection”. You will notice there will now be a circle in the middle of your selected area, that is the center of the image/layer.
- Click (and hold) on the Ruler from the left side and drag the guide line to the center circle (it should snap to it). Then do the horizontal ruler (top).
- You now have the “true” center of the image
